Logistics Account Manager

As an Account Manager for Aden Logistics, you will be the single point of contact for your customer and responsible managing multiple accounts while securing new customer business.  This role will work directly with the operations team to ensure high-level service to the customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain & develop your existing accounts and prospect for new accounts.
  • Engages in on-going training to continually develop sales skills.
  • Receives customers’ requests by telephone or email, analyzes requests, provides information requested or ascertains who can best provide the information, and routes the request to the proper person.
  • Knowledgeable in the 3PL space (markets/pricing)
  • Professional collaboration and coordination with shippers, carriers, and dispatchers
  • Keeps operational teams informed as to new customers and provides details to operational teams as to the requirements and needs of each new customer on-boarded.
  • Develop business relationships with new and existing carriers.
  • Respond to customer concerns and queries promptly and professionally, maintaining positive relationships with customers.
  • Entering data into the McLeod TMS system
  • Negotiate price with shippers and carriers.
  • Be honest and proactive in all your communications – internally and externally.
  • Outbound phone calls and visits to new potential shippers and carriers in order to achieve the objectives of the agreed upon sales plan.
  • Analyzes bids and responds to requests for quotes.
  • Searches customer records using company CRM system and provides necessary information and or reports to sales manager and team members.
  • Sets daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals and achieves goals.
  • Has extensive knowledge of services offered, pricing, delivery, and transit.
  • Travels to customer locations as needed.
  • Completes shippers request for quotes (RFQ) as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Experience and Background:

  • Five (5) years experience in general sales or three (3) years experience in freight sales or operations. Knowledge and ability—English and grammar. Pleasant telephone voice/manner, ability to operate simple office equipment sufficiently to perform the job. Ability to compose correspondence, think on your feet, and knowledge of what excellent customer service is.
